Looking  Back & Looking Forward

Looking  back and looking forward

Today is my 50th birthday and Northfield Stables just turned 20! Amazing!

For my birthday my sweet Mom made a scrapbook of some pictures of Northfield Stables from the first few years. So fun to see the progress we have made.

20 years ago when we bought the property it was nothing but barbed wire, hawthorn trees, and cow manure. Just so you know, if you are trying to cut barbed wire out of hawthorn trees, you are going to get bloody. Maybe they should be named “Aaaa thorns! Trees”. (Bad joke for Dad. I miss you Dad!💕)  Anyway, sorry…. 😉
We have accomplishment so much! To build the barn from nothing to a great business is amazing. It truly is evidence that if you have a dream, keep your focus on it and work hard at it every day, you can create anything. I have put so much blood, sweat, and tears into Northfield Stables.  Literally sweat running down my back, bloody knuckles and sobbing in the sand. Such a labor of love! I am so blessed and grateful for it all! So grateful for the person I am today because of it. I love that I know that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

What a great foundation to launch my new business. I am looking forward to putting in the work to make Great Life Great Horse an even better business!  It shouldn’t be as bloody. But nerve racking in its own way. I already love the next version of myself this new dream will create.

What dreams do you want to create and who will you become while creating them? Get them done!

I would to thank everyone who has helped make Northfield Stables what it is today.

Thank you Mom and Dad for believing in, and investing in me and my dream.

Thank you Luis for all your hard work!  The barn looks great because of you!

Thank you Sherri for all of the hours and hours of help! (Even if you did corrupt Mom) The kitties thank you too!

Thank you Trish for helping paint all the fence posts and being such a great friend!

Thank you to Kim, Sara, Cara, and all the Peas. We are so grateful to have you working at our barn.

Thank you to all my students and our boarders over the years I have learned so much while teaching you and your horses.

Thank you Pat Parelli for teaching me much what I know about horsemanship.

Thank you Julie and Brooke Castillo  for helping find my new dream.

And Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Larry for being my partner through it all.

Here’s to the next 20 years of Northfield Stables and to the next 50 years of a great life!
